On your way to wilderness, you may stop at a farm to pick strawberries or take a cruise on Knysna lagoon to check the beauty of this boutique place.

Day-to-Day Journey

Arrive in Cape Town, where you will be welcomed by a local representative inside the airport, you shall be assisted through passport control and after collecting luggage, you shall be escorted to your driver who transfers you to your hotel.  Check in to your upscale hotel & settle in elegant room boasting gorgeous views of Table Mountain.

Meet your driver guide who shall take you for a private Cape peninsular full day tour. Drive along one of South Africa’s most scenic routes, passing Hout Bay. Enjoy a cruise to Seal Island (Weather permitting), view seals and sea birds at Duiker Island. Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, check the new lighthouse that is most powerful in the world.  Why not, ascend to the top of by The Flying Dutchman funicular. Afterwards visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach and drive through the historic naval base town of Simon’s Town back to your hotel.

Check out of your hotel. Your driver guide today takes you on a tour of Cape Town city sites. Ascend Table Mountain for unforgettable sweeping views (Weather permitting), pass through the Malay Quarter, drive past the Castle of Good Hope, Houses of Parliament and the Company Gardens before visiting the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront for some quick shopping or meal. Then enjoy the breath-taking helicopter Hopper flight (10–12 minutes). Taking off from the V&A Waterfront, you’ll be awestruck by the Atlantic ocean stretching out to the horizon, further pass over Green Point Stadium– before seeing a bird’s-eye view of Robben Island and Table Mountain. Then marvel at the Twelve Apostles mountain range before heading back to the V&A (Route may change as per conditions). Your next destination is the wine valley of Franschhoek. Reach Franschhoek and settle in your historic boutique accommodation, conveniently walkable from various restaurants and stores.

Start your day with a journey by tram to a local wine estate where a knowledgeable wine guide. During this interactive experience, you will have an opportunity to sample, the subtle tastes of terroir, and learn about the local grape varieties, cultivars and the aspects of viticulture unique to Southern Africa. A tour of the estate wine cellar will be followed by a specially curated three-course lunch at the estate restaurant. After lunch, you will visit two additional top Franschhoek wine estates, travelling by double-decker tram and tram-bus to these three wineries and enjoying a premium wine tasting at each estate.

Meet your driver-guide at your hotel for your onward overland journey to Oudtshoorn, via the Route 62. A tourist route in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape that meanders between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn, the Langkloof and Port Elizabeth, offering the shorter, scenic alternative to the N2 highway. It’s an area of magnificent landscapes and towering cliffs, crystal clear streams and an abundance of trees and indigenous flora. The ever changing colours of the majestic mountains, scenic passes, rivers, vineyards and orchards, as well as the multitude of attractions, will offer you an unforgettable adventure. Reach Oudtshoorn in about 5-6 hours. Check in to your boutique hotel here, which is on a working ostrich farm.

Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world.  Nowhere else are ostriches found in such great number and nowhere else do they produce feathers of such fine quality. Visit the Cango Caves, internationally renowned as one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Continue on to the Ostrich Ranch and come face to face with the biggest bird in the world. Finally, end your day at the Cango Wildlife Ranch.  Over 300 crocodiles, ranging from 50 cm to four meters in length, inhabit the ranch.

Say good bye to Oudtshoorn and your driver guide takes you towards Knysna, ever-popular town of legend, history, arts and crafts. The town is built on the banks of the Knysna Lagoon, home to more than 200 species of fish – including the rare Knysna seahorse. On the way you may stop at a strawberry farm & experience picking your own strawberries (not included), in Knysna board a scenic cruise and natural beauty the Knysna lagoon, as you navigate through the famous Knysna Heads out into the open Indian Ocean. Then explore this charming town before reaching Wilderness, where your lavishly appointed boutique hotel awaits you with the breath taking views of the Garden Route, check in and settle in your comfortable room with floor-to-ceiling views of the Indian Ocean.

Continue your onward journey to Port Elizabeth via Tsitsikamma, it’s spectacular scenery includes the Indian Ocean breakers, pounding rocky shores beneath 180 m high cliffs, ever-green forests and fynbos rolling down to the sea, further you may stop at Bloukrans Bridge, to check the view from Africa’s highest bridge. There is nothing tranquil about throwing yourself more than 200 metres down towards the river below (not included) as it is recognised as the ‘highest bungee from a bridge’ in the world. Continue your journey to reach Port Elizabeth, gateway to the Eastern Cape, a popular leisure resort, known as “The Friendly City” with more sunshine than any other coastal town in the country.  The drive is approx. 4 hours without stops or more with suggested stops. Check in to your luxurious hotel attached to the Boardwalk Casino Complex, main beach is a short walk from here.

Today get ready to be transferred to Amakhala Game Reserve’s luxury lodge, just an hour away from here. This private Game Reserve is spread in a large 8500 hectare area. Settle in your romantic and luxurious Game Lodge and post lunch, join an experienced ranger for an afternoon game drive on an open cruiser to witness breath taking landscapes and unforgettable wildlife sightings. Later enjoy dinner in the lodge.

Overnight in Amakhala

Today wake up early, after hot beverages and light snacks, your ranger will escorts you to his open safari vehicle for your morning game drive. Return to the lodge and enjoy breakfast, then relax and enjoy day at leisure. Post lunch, again join the ranger for an afternoon drive that continues into the evening. Post safari enjoy dinner.

Check out of your boutique accommodation and meet your driver who shall transfer you to Port Elizabeth Airport for onwards flight to Johannesburg. On arrival, your hotels shuttle shall transfer you to a palatial style complex where you shall spend the night in a luxury hotel. The complex has multi restaurants, entertainments and a Casino. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
