Visit the Fridheimar tomato greenhouse where you will know how it is possible to grow vegetables in this cold climate, by creating warm Mediterranean conditions, all year round and enjoy a unique 3 course lunch with main ingredients being locally grown tomato.

Overnight in Reykjavik

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Your private driver guide takes you along the attractions to South Coast today, leaving a bit early. The adventure begins when your arrival is announced by the powerful theatrics of Seljalandsfoss. Bring a raincoat and you’ll be able to make the short hike behind the falls. The scene behind the fall and the trembling ground from the power of the falling water makes for an automatic Instagram blockbuster. Further west along the coast is Skógafoss waterfall. Skógafoss is an incredibly picturesque sight. Heading further west, we visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara where the massive waves of the Atlantic meet the unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. Reach Vik to attend Icelandic Lava Show. In order to recreate a miniature volcano eruption, they superheat real lava from the 1918 Katla eruption and once molten, pour it into a showroom full of people. In an instant, the showroom heats up to a toasty temperature. The audience sits safe in their seats yet just a few feet away from the flowing lava, it is mesmerizing to see, hear, smell and feel the incredible heat that radiates from it. Drive further for overnight in your hotel near Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.

Overnight in Glacier Lagoon Area

Meals: Breakfast

Start your day by heading to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lagoon fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Enormous icebergs come from Breiðamerkurjökull all year round so the lagoon is usually filled with ice that floats south. We may get the opportunity of an Amphibian Boat to sail (for about 30-40 minutes, operational only in summers) among the huge icebergs in the picturesque scenery of Jökulsárlón. If you are lucky you might even see some seals.

Then visit Diamond Beach on the other side of the road. The icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean where they are quickly thrown back to shore by the tide and winds. This black sand beach is full of smaller ice rocks in all shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight in all shades of white and blue, guaranteeing some Instagram worthy pics.

Overnight in South Coast Area

Today start your private tour with driver guide taking you back to Reykjavik. Along the way stop at On Power – Geothermal Exhibition at Hellisheiði Power Plant which is an exploration into the utilization of geothermal energy in Iceland for a renewable and sustainable future. Later reach Reykjavik to visit the Perlan glass dome where a 360 viewing platform provides some of the best views of Reykjavik. Then visit a local stable to meet the Icelandic horses. It gives you a change to pet the horse and have a picture taken with your camera (Horseback riding – optional at direct payment). The last stop will be to the famous Blue Lagoon where you can relax and let the warm and mineral-rich water warm you up and recharge you from your exciting trip in Iceland.  The Blue Lagoon features an in-water mask booth, sauna, steam room and an in-water bar.
